CHEJ Joins Over 75 State And National Groups Urging Congress To Strengthen Lead In Toys Bill
CHEJ, Environment America, Greenpeace, U.S. PIRG and a coalition of over seventy-five health and environmental organizations are calling on Congress to strengthen the proposed lead in toys restrictions. The groups are urging Congress to establish the lowest level possible for all children’s products as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Target to Systematically Reduce PVC in Infant Products, Children's Toys, Shower Curtains, Packaging
After a national campaign by CHEJ and a coalition of health and environmental organizations, Target has agreed to systematically reduce its use of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastic, commonly known as vinyl. The company is reducing PVC found in many of its products including infant products, children’s toys, shower curtains, packaging and fashion accessories. Target, the fifth largest U.S. retailer with $59 billion in revenues a year, is joining a growing list of dozens of companies that are eliminating or reducing its PVC products and packaging.

CHEJ And Founder Lois Gibbs Turn A Triple Play; Receive Three Awards Recognizing Their Work As Trusted Agents Of Change Safeguarding Our Communities From Dangerous Toxins
CHEJ has received a total of three awards for its work in recent weeks. CHEJ has been presented two awards from evaluator entities, monitoring the performance of activist organizations in achievement and fiscal management. In addition, Lois Gibbs was presented with a BENNY award, the first individual achievement award from The Business Ethics Network (BEN).
